Fun in the Sun

Today I have another Digi from Cute As A Button. She is Alana the Shell Collector. Isn't she precious! Children are fascinated with Shells and are always on the look out for a shell they haven't seen before. She is a perfect image for summer!

I used my Prisma Colored Pencils to color the image. The strip across the bottom of the card has several different beach sayings on it. The card is 6" x 5". I added some stickers for detail. The shells are from a set I bought from Joann Fabrics.

This was so much fun to color and create! I hope I have inspired you to create something and make it your own. Hugz

I used a Cute As A Button image for this project. I colored the Digi with Prisma Colored Pencils and adhered it to a 6 x 6 green card base. I love the old fashion look to the Bikini! The image was a lot of fun to work with. I know the picture is a little blurry. I tried the best I could to get a clear photo. Since being sick I have developed a slight shake. It has made it a challenge to color, paint and do projects but I will keep working on it.

Catching the Waves

Hi Everyone! I have a Cute As A Button New Release today. It captures the fun of Summer and living near the Ocean. Surfing is a favorite pass time for many. This image shows the fun, adventure and excitement of the sport. I am still having some problems with getting my steady hands back after being so sick. Please forgive  me for the blurriness. I tried everything to get a clear picture and it just didn't work out....

I colored the image with Prisma Colored Pencils and adhered it to a 6 x 6 green card base. I added some summertime fun stickers and a pair of Flippy Floppies. This is a great image for a party invite, BBQ, Picnic ect....

Summer celebrations

Hi Everyone! I'm terribly sorry about the length of time I it has been since I blogged last. I was in the Hospital on a ventilator for several weeks due to some medical complications. I'm home now and trying my best to get back in the swing of things. I currently have a tracheotomy in place and once the swelling goes down in my throat they will remove it and I will be back to normal. I have found it a bit challenging to do my painting and coloring due to some shaking that has developed from the medications I'm taking but I'm not giving up!

I have a card I recently made using an image from Cute As A Button. It's one of my favorites because it captures the feeling of summer and all the celebrations that come with it. I hope you enjoy my card! This would be a great image to use for a 4th of July Picnic, or a Family Reunion Invitations.

I used Prisma Colored Pencils to color the image. The beach sand and sky were done using TH Distress inks and a mini inker. The watermelon has Glossy Accents to give it a wet shiny look. I used a 6 x 6 card base and TH distress ink to give the edges of the card and background paper some depth and detail. I used a Regal Die Set and  Stitched Circle Die set to cut out the image. All of the Patriotic Stars are from a set I picked up at the Dollar Store last year. She is so much fun to color and has so many different uses how can you resist!?!

I hope you are inspired to create something fun and to get out and enjoy the summer! Hugz

Remembering the Fallen

This is an image from Cute as a Button and its called fallen soldier. You can find the shop and the image by clicking on the links above. I started out by painting the image. I used the Stitched Rectangle Die Set to cut the image, red and white cardstock. The Blue cardstock is 4 1/4 " x 5 1/2" The card is a tan card stock and it's 5" x  7". I added some embellishments I purchased from the local craft store.

Rose and Roxy

Hi and Welcome To  another  Outlawz.ning.com  Monday Greetings Challenge. I am proud to be a Guest Designer for the month of May. This week the theme is "Anything Goes." Our Sponsor for the challenge is Cre8tive Hands and Crafty Sentiments. I bought a Die Set from Gina Marie Design Dies awhile back and haven't had time to play with it. I decided since this was an Any Goes Challenge I would give it a try. It is her Window Die Set and its Lovely. It comes with two planters, two shutters and four different things to use as Hinges, or whatever you come up with. Here is the card.

and

I started out by cutting out the window opening. I ran the white cardstock through a brick wall embossing folder. Then I used TH Distress Ink to pain the Bricks. I used Walnut, Rusty Hinge and Pumice. Once that was dry I adhered the window frame to the brick. I used Ellen Hutson Spring Flower Die Sets to make the Lily's of the Valley's and Tulip's. Before I glued them on I used a piece of foam tape across the bottom of the window frame so it popped out. Then I laid the flowers across the foam Tape. The flower box is glued on top of the flowers.

Now it was time to color the image. I used Prisma Colored Pencils and adhered it to my A2 Card front. I taped two pieces of foam together and glued it down so the wall had dimension and depth from the image. I should've used a bigger card base so I could've put shutters on, but I didn't relize it until I was almost done. I guess I will have to make another one. I was looking at it and the one shutters could be used as a trellis I think??? Something for me to try... :) Stay tuned for future projects with this Die set.
