Once I was done I used A Stitched Rectangle Die set by Gina Marie Designs to cut the image, a piece of pink cardstock, and two smaller pieces for my sentiment. I adhered the image a little off center for detail. The embossing tread is from my stash. I added Jems scattered around for sparkle. I hope you get a chance to come see what is going on in the group. Hello...Thinking of you....

Hello everyone! Did you have a great weekend with Family and Friends? I'm always puzzled by peoples behavior when the whole Family gets together. I sit and watch everyone great each other with happy faces and enthusiasm. It all seems great until everyone gets comfortable. If you watch closely you will see one or two lean in and whisper something into another person's ear. Before you know it the large family group has broken off into their little clicks. You can here the whispering around the room from the one or two that continue on. The ones that are watching wonder who they are picking on now. It's always the same people in the family to start the conflicts. They stay behind the scene's and most don't even realize that they are being played with. It never fails the conflict and arguing ahs started and the instigator is standing by quite as a mouse and as innocent as can be. I love getting together with my Family but the instigator can't fool me......
This the instigator stayed home and it was a great Easter indeed!

That brings me to my card. I thought of the friends I wish to see. The ones that didn't make it to the Holiday Dinner. The ones that are usually the victim in the Holiday scheme. Here is my card.

  • I used a clear stamp from Tiddly Inks. I used Archival Ink.
  • I water color painted the image.
  • I used two of the Stitched Rectangle Dies from Gina Mari Designs.
  • I adhered the background paper to an A2 size card and cut the striped paper in the shape of a banner.
  • I used inkadinkadoo sentiment stamps and added a couple of Jems for sparkle.
  • The flower Jem was added for some detail and the card is done
I hope you like the card. I think she is so cute! Please leave any comments or questions you might have in the box below. I love reading them and I'm here to help and inspire you!

A friend and I have started a new Facebook Progressive Challenge Group called Cre8tive Hands Fans. We provide a Digi to you free of charge every two weeks and you make your project and post it in our group. At the end of two weeks we do a random draw for a winner. I sure hope that you have time to stop by and check us out! We are having a lot of fun!!

The Prize: Free Digi's From Our Sponsor:

  • I decided to try something a little different and have fun with this card. I Painted the image and then I splattered ink onto the background.
  • I allowed the paint to run with the drips and edged everything with Dusty concord after I cut the image using a Scalloped Square Die Set.
  • The background strip is from my stash. I added Glossy Accents and enamel dots.
It was fun to just let the paint run and get messy. My OCD doesn't usually allow me to do this. I hope you enjoyed the card today. I can't wait to see what you make. Have a Great Day!

It's been a little busy

I've been a little busy and I haven't had a chance to visit my card friends lately. I haven't even made a card until last night for several days. I''m sorry for that and I'm going to ask for some patience and understanding. My Dad's health has taken a severe turn for the worst. He has Pancreas Cancer and he has been fighting a battle against it for 3 months now. It seems that the cancer is winning and we have been told to spend as much time as we can with him because it won't be long now.

I have sat with dad and had some really good visits. We have said the things we wanted to and now we just reminisce in our memories together. I've always been told that life is short and you better make sure you enjoy it while you can. Wow! Has that ever hit me hard this last week. I don't think a person is ever ready to lose a parent. We always think we have more time. In our daily lives we rush about thinking...I will try to stop by and visit them tomorrow, or next week. Dad has been retired for 4 yrs now and there are things he wanted to do but thought...maybe tomorrow, next week, next month, or next year... "He says don't put things off anymore Julie. Go do them while you can." Wise words of wisdom from a dying man. One of the other things he has taught me is that we are not here to judge other's for the things they say and do. That's God's job. He says "besides that, you never know what is going on in a person's life to make them the way they are, or say and do the things they do. Just except them for who they are." and I tend to think he is right. I leave you on these thoughts and share a card I made for him last night.
I made this for Dad because his favorite place to be is out fishing on a lake and in the river. I wanted him to have a picture of one of his favorite places to look at while he is in the Hospital. I'm not going to do a tutorial on this one right now. If your interested in all the how to information just let me know.

Easter Bonnets

Hi today at Addicted To Stamps and More the new Challenge has started. This week the theme is Anything Goes. Our Design Team has put together some fantastic projects for inspiration. I hope you stop by and check it out. I can't wait to see what you create!

Our sponsor this week is:

I used TH Distress Ink to water color the image and adhered it to a 5" x 7" card. I added the sentiment with Jems for a little bit of detail. This image is so darn cute. It was so much fun to paint and play with. If your new to my blog please make sure to comment below and leave your blog address so I can follow your projects and be inspired by you. Have a blessed week. Hugz

To My Sister

Hello Everyone and Welcome, Today I'm a GDT for Stamprints Digi Stamps Stop by their store and check out what's new. They are adding new Digi's every week and have some exciting stuff coming up this month.

I started out printing the image and erasing the extra ink. This is an important step because it removes the ink so you don't have as much trouble with it smearing.
I then water colored the image and used a Stitched Rectangle Die from Gina Marie Design Dies.
I matted it with a navy blue cardstock and wrapped some thread I had in my stash around the image and tied it off with a button.
I added half of a doily and some enamel dots for
detail.
For the sentiment I used the Stampendous Sisters Sentiment Set I won from their Blog Hop in January.
Everything is adhered to a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" Card base.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today. If you have any questions or comments please leave them in the box below. I love reading them and will respond to all of your questions. Have a Blessed Day!

National Craft Month

Hello Everyone! It is National Craft Month and today Right At Home is having a Blog Hop and Challenge to celebrate. You can find the Blog Hop and Challenge through the link above. It's funny everyone crafts for different reasons. I have crafted all of my life and love many types of crafts. I started around 5 yrs old. My Nana taught me how to crochet. I was thrilled that I could make something beautiful with my hands. My love for crafting grew from there. Some of you are new to crafting and just learning the way crafts can become so satisfying and addicting. I craft to satisfy an intense urge to create, to share what I have learned with others and to work through a certain amount of daily pain. Why do you craft? What got you started? I Hope through my crafting that you become inspired and learn new things. If you ever have questions, opinions or idea's I want to hear them! I love to see everyone getting involved and working together. This is a place that I want you to feel comfortable. Here is my card for the Right at Home Challenge. I tried a new technique so be gentle :)

  1. I started with a piece of water color paper cut to 4" x 5 1/4". I decided were I wanted my flowers to be on my card and then water color painted spots of paint in those locations.
  2. Once it was dry I took the flower stamp and stamped it on top of the spots with embossing ink.
  3. I used a clear embossing powder. Then I used my heat gun to set the powder.
  4. The next step is to take black ink and cover the entire piece. Once your satisfied with it, take a rag and rub the black ink off the embossing areas. Isn't Pretty!?!
  5. I used a Heidi Swapp Thank you Die and cut the sentiment from the inside of a tin can.
    1. You can use any type of can...beer, soda, red bull...cut the top and bottom off the can.
    2. Cut down the length of the can and flatten it open.
    3. Tape your die into place and run it through your machine.
  6. I used the inside because I didn't want the can color but you can do whatever. You could also add ink, or paint, to it so it fits with what your doing. (Try this with other dies. The results are stunning)
  7. I glued my sentiment to my piece, added a couple of hearts and adhered it to the front of a pink A2 card.
I love how this turned out. It's gorgeous and fun! I can't wait to hear what you think. Thank you for stopping by. Have a blessed day!!

Oh How Lovely

Good Monday Morning Everyone. I hope you had a great weekend! Do you have a farm in your past? Or, maybe you live on a farm right now? Did you raise chickens and other farm animals? Were you involved in the 4H Club? What Life lessons did you learn from all of this? My Neighbors have decided to raise chickens and I'm so excited about it! I used to help my Grandma collect eggs and feed the chickens on the farm when I was a young girl. Seeing these baby chicks has brought back such fond memories. We live in a Suburb and we weren't allowed to raise chickens until recently. It has become very popular lately. Some of them raise the chickens for the pet quality and a piece from their past on a farm. Others are raising them for show and get involved in the fairs. They are teaching their children through the 4H Clubs and allowing them to understand the importance of team work and responsibilities for another life. Whatever the reason I'm all for it! Spending so much time on the farm as a child taught me so many life long lesson's. With all of this on my mind this weekend I felt this image was perfect for my card today.

The image was provided by Cute As A Button for a Progressive Facebook Challenge.

  • I painted the image using water colors and Distress Inks.
  • The image is outlined with a light blue marker so that it had a more finished fresh look.
  • I painted parts of a second image for her fingers and the watermelon. I fussy cut it out and adhered it to the image with foam tape for dimension.
  • I added Glossy Accents to the watermelon for a little bit of detail.
  • The Die is a Rectangle Die set from Gina Marie Designs.
  • I adhered everything to my background and onto a A2 size card.
  • The sentiment is a tag from my stash. I added Jems for some sparkle.
  • The slice of watermelon in the corner of the card is from a cupcake. I cut the stem off and adhered it to the card.

I hope you like the card! I encourage you to visit Cute As A Button with the link above. Her images a so cute and she takes the time to add a lot of detail to her images. I love reading your comments so please feel free to let me know what you think in the boxes below. Have a Great Day! HUgz

Hoppin' Down The Bunny Trail

Hello Everyone, How are you doing? My 4 yr old Granddaughter sent me a video text the other day asking mt for my address. She was all excited because she made a picture of the Easter Bunny coming to my house and she wanted to mail it to me right away for my fridge. How cute is that!?! I suddenly realized I hadn't made a Easter card for her yet. I received this image from Lacy Sunshine last week as a FB freebie and felt it would be perfect! She has the same dark hair and big eyes. I used these sentiment tags because it will be easier for her to try and read. She is doing really well with her reading and sounds the letters out until she figures out what it says. She's a smart little cookie.

  • As always I erased the extra ink right after I printed the image. It removes the extra and stops it from smearing.
  • I painted the image with water color paints and TH Distress Inks.
  • The image was cut using Gina Marie Design Die Stitched Rectangles Set.
  • I used Salty Ocean around the edges of the Die cut and added some sequins.
  • The purple ribbon was added to a 6" x  6" piece of background paper.
  • I added the image using foam tape. The Sentiment tags are also added with foam tape.

I love Lacy Sunshine's Images! The faces are cute, she creates a small scene with them and she pays close attention to detail so they look more realistic and less cartoony (is that a word?)  These are great qualities to look for when digi shopping. Have a great weekend everyone!! HUgz

I will be using this card in the following Challenges:

I added washi tape, roses and Jems for detail. The sentiment is from Hero arts. I hope you enjoy my card and it has inspired you to make a project and join in the Paper Al a Mode challenge at the outlawz. Please leave any comments or questions you have in the box below. St. Patrick's Day

Hello Everyone and Welcome, Today at the Owtlawz we are kicking off some new Theme's for our Festive Friday's Challenge. The Design Team has put together some great projects for you for inspiration. Please stop by and check them out. It will be great fun and I can't wait to  see what you make. Our Theme's for this week are St. Patrick's Day, Plant a Flower Day, Save a Spider Day and National Butterfly Day.

I chose to do a card for St. Patrick's Day. My Family is Scottish but we immigrated to Ireland years ago. At some point my distant relatives started to identify themselves as Irish. Now, I'm not sure of the History as to why but the Family Joke is that our Ancestor's did this because they wanted to legitimately  take part in the Party that occur's every year. I made a card in reflection of the Family Humor. I think that I am going to mail this to my brother. I hope you like my card.

I found a couple Embellishment packs at the Dollar Store and saved them for this card. I used a Stitched Circle Die to cut out the space for the leprechaun and the Rainbow. I adhered it to a green cardstock and then adhered it to an A2 size card. The clover was added for embellishment along with a Kiss Me I'm Irish button I found at the local department store.

I hope you enjoy the card and get a chance to enter our Challenge. Please leave any question or comments you have in the box below. HUGZ

You're Tea-riffic

Hello Everyone! How has your week been so far? I've been struggling this week with an on going back problem. Lot's of time and rest and I am on the road to recovery. Yay! What are the plans for the weekend? Are you leaving for spring break? I know a lot of people tend to travel at this time of the year. Are you exploring something new? Will you be inspired to create and be influenced by what you see? I've noticed that I can usually tell who designed the projects just by looking at the pictures but right now things seem to be changing. People are changing the look of the projects and cards just a tiny bit. Is that because the weather is changing? Or is it because of the influence of the vacations everyone is taking? I would love to know what is inspiring you right now and how you are being influenced by this. Today I did a card influenced by the weather here in Minnesota and the slower pace I have been taking to rest up. I hope it inspires you. Here is my card.
  • I started with a Unity Stamp Company Stamp called Hello Love. I painted her using water color paints.
  • I used a Stitched Circle Dies from Lawn Fawn and outlined the image with a light blue. to give it a finished look.
  • I cut a 1 1/4" x 5 1/2" strip of patterend card stock from my stash and adhered it to the A2 size card front.
  • The Image was adhered and sequins were added after I used WOW white embossing powder from the Latte Love Stamp Set from Fiskars.
It's been chilly here the last couple of days here and I've been living off coffee trying to stay awake and get things done....LOL I love my coffee! I hope you have a great weekend! HUgz

Creative Hands Friends Challenge

Good Morning Everyone, I'm so excited to tell you about a new Digi Challenge sight, Creative Hands Friends. I've been asked to be part of the DT and this is the second challenge they have posted. The Challenges will run for two weeks so you have plenty of time to design your cards and enter them into the challenge. You have to use a digi to be part of the challenge. The Theme this week is to use a Digital Fairy. It's that easy. Isn't that great! I can't wait see your projects in our Challenges! Good Luck!!
The Prize is a bundle of Digi's from Creative Hands

For my card today I first printed the image onto watercolor paper. Make sure you erase the image after you print it. By doing this you erase all of the extra ink and it won't smear when you use your different media's.

  • I water color painted the image and added stickles to the wand and wings.
  • I used a Sky Blue Prisma Color Pencil to color around the image.
  •  I used a Oval Stitched Die from Gina Marie Design Dies to cut the image out.
  • The background paper is from recollections and I adhered it to a hot pink background.
  • I added the Jems and the sentiment and my card is done.

A new Challenge sight is always exciting and fun. I can't wait to see what you create! Have a great day! Hgz

Easter Joys

Hi everyone and welcome! I'm so excited that you have stopped by. I'm posting a card I designed for Stamprints today. The image is beautiful! You can find this image as part of the Easter Collage. I will be using the other images from this collage in my future posts so you will have to stick around and follow my blog so you don't miss any of the up coming cards. Here is the card I have for you today!

I started by fussy cutting the image from the Easter Collage. I used a embossing folder with yellow cardstock on the background. Then I placed a pink ribbon behind the image and tied it on the left. I added a gold shell and some thread behind the bow for detail along with some gold Jems.  I had a punch that just seemed to fit so I added this to the right edge. I will be posting other images that Stamprints offers on their sight in future posts so make sure to check back often. I hope you all have time to craft this coming weekend. ~HUGZ~
