Stamprints Easter

Hi everyone and welcome! I'm so excited that you have stopped by. Today is the first time Stamprints has posted their cards and I was asked to do some design work for them. They are off to a great start and I can't wait to see what their future releases will be. You will have to stick around and follow my blog so you don't miss any of the up coming releases. Isabella to the Moon and back

Hello Everyone! How are you today? I'm wondering how everyone handles a mistake on a card. Do you scrap the whole thing and start over? Do you spend time trying to change your layout so you can cover it up somehow? Do you repair it to the best of your ability and hope nobody notices. I struggle with this because my OCD wants to scrap it and start over but the amount of time I have and all the projects I need to get done never allow me the time to do that. I find myself spending a lot of time trying to fix my mistakes...I think this actually takes longer than if I would just scrap it and start over sometimes. Well, I made an error with the card I made today. I spent a lot of time repairing it and I often wonder if anyone can even tell there was an oops...Here's the card I did let me know if you can spot my oops. I'm not sure I repaired it very well..Hahaha

The image is one I received as a prize on an Outlawz.ning.com Challenge in November. She is from A & T Digi's Emerald Fairies and her name is Isabella. Isn't she precious!?!

The Moon and sentiment are from Stamprints Designs.

• I started with Isabella on a 4" x 6" water color paper. I erased the image so the Ink from my printer wouldn't smear. This is a great trick and works every time to remove the ink that is sitting on the paper and it prevents smearing with several types of media.
• I water colored the image and then I used Stormy Sky Distress ink to do the clouds. I wanted to give a evening feel to the card.
• Then I added the moon and sentiment along with some enamel dots to give the card a little detail. Of course, I had to add Stickles to the wings, too.

I did these clouds yesterday on a card I posted and they just seemed to fit this little image so well that I did them again. Wood You be mine?

Hello Everyone, I'm so happy you have stopped by today. I'm not sure how you feel about winter and all the cold weather we have been having but as for myself? I'm ready for the February warm up that we usually get here in Minnesota. It was -12 when I got up this morning again Bbbrrrrrr and I didn't even mention the windchill. It has been like this for 2 weeks now and the cold just whistles its way right into the core of your bones. I have a space heater in my craft room and its aimed at my feet....LOL Today's card is of warmer weather, green grass and blue skies. I bought the image from Whimsy Stamps and the name of the set is "Wood You Be Mine."

Here's the card:

• I started by stamping my image on 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" water coloring paper with Black Archival Ink.
• I started out the sky by making a scalloped edge and then sponged, TH Stormy Sky, Broken China and Salty Ocean randomly around the paper to form clouds.
• After I was done with the sky I painted the grass with TH Mowed Lawn and placed the shadow behind her and off to her left.
• I used Wild Honey and Vintage Photo to do Her hair and Candied apple for the heart charm in her hair.
• I used Faded Jeans to paint her pants and Candied Apple on her shirt and shoes. 
• Her skin was painted with Spiced Marigold and Spun Sugar on her cheeks.
• When I stamped the Banners I used Candies Apple to highlight the words " Smile and Mine."
• Of course I had to add Jems because I love them :)

It felt summery just making it and the clouds turned out great! I hope you try this technique out with other projects. It's really easy and quick to do. a twist on a "Z" fold

Hello Everyone, I hope your Saturday is off to a GREAT start. It's blustery cold here in Minnesota and the temps just keep dropping. I'm so glad February is almost here. We always warm up in February and get most of our snow. The good thing about it is that the snow melts pretty fast :) A Dear friend of mine made a "Z" fold card and it was gorgeous. I told her that it was super cool because it reminded me of a room in a house. We decided to see what it would look like with a window in the card. She has a different type (more versatile) window than I so we both made a card to see what they look like.

Her card is Beautiful! I love the lace curtains and the fact that she even made a door with a wreath on it just darling. She even has a Cuckoo Clock on the wall. How cute is that!?!

I have to say I like her card a lot more. Her window type looks so much better than this one. I tried to add curtains but it just didn't seem to look right because of the arch on top. Oh, wow, I just realized something.....I should've used a solid material and went above the arch to make the window appear as though it was a standard rectangular window....LOL I will try that for sure! I hope that you have enjoyed our cards. We both had a good time making them. It would be really neat to see what all of you can come up with to make a card like this and post it so we both can see. Hats Off To National Dress Your Pet Day

Hello everyone, On the outlawz.ning.com we have a new Challenge for each day of the week. Today is Festive Friday! We have chosen four different things to Celebrate this week for our Challenge. The idea is for you to find inspiration from one or more of the Holidays and make a project relating to it/them. This weeks Holidays are  Step in a Puddle and Splash Your Friend's Day, Feast of Fabulous Wild Men Day, Dress Up Your Pet Day, National Hat Day. Don't these sound fun!?! I chose to do two of the days on one card this week. My card is for Dress Up Your Pet Day and National Hat Day. Here is my card.

I will be entering this card in the following Challenge #TGIFC38

• I decided to do a step card format the dimensions are:

Card stock : 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"

Measuring on the long side mark with a pencil

at 1" x 2 3/4"  and 6 3/8" x 2 3/4"

cut from the 1 " mark to the 6 3/8" mark 2 3/4" from the edge

Now you need to score the side you want the step on (either side will work)

score at 1" 2" 3 1/8" and 6 3/8" only to the cut line.

Now score at 4 1/4" all the way across the card.

Now you can do the folding and you have your card base done :)

Isn't that an easy card to make? It looks so nice finished and gives you so many more designing options. I love it and I hope you do, too. I will be doing other fancy folds as we progress through the year and I will include all the dimensions in my tutorials so you can make the cards too. Celebrate National Hat Day!

Hi everyone, Did you know its National Hat Day? At the Outlawz.ning.com Festive Friday Challenge We are Celebrating Step in a puddle and splash your friend's day, Feast of Fabulous wild men day, dress up your pet day and National Hat Day. The idea is to create a project relating to one or more of these topics. This is SO much fun, right? I was inspired by National Hat Day and here is my card.

• I used distress ink to make the background and then I water colored the Nancy Girl stamp from https://www.unitystampco.com/
• The sentiment is from my stash and I picked up the hats at Joann Fabrics.

This is our second week with the new Challenge and thus far it has been a blast. The cards the other DT have done this week and last have been awesome and extremely creative. Hello and welcome everyone. Today is my first post as a member of the Design Team at Addicted To Stamps and More.

I'm so excited to have this opportunity to work with all the Designers here and to share my cards with all of you. Today's challenge is Anything Goes. My card today is a reflection of love and friendship and how you can find these in the most unexpected people in our lives. Here is my card.

• To start I used the "Going to be owl-right" stamp set from www.unitystampco.com
• I used water colors to paint him and I cut the sheet to an A2 size card and adhered it to the card base.
• I used a Scalloped Square Die to cut the window out of the white card stock. 
• After I made the window opening I used the dot embossing folder for some dimension and detail.
• I glued 2 pieces of craft foam together. They are cut slightly smaller then the card size. I made the window opening slightly larger then the scalloped square opening.
• I adhered all the pieces together and fussy cut a heart shape that I stamped the sentiment onto.
• I decided to use white embossing powder on the sentiment for a bit of pop and added a Jem on the heart.

To me this stamp is trying to say that sometimes the people you love or whom you are closest to isn't exactly the same as you but if you give it a chance it works out. It seems like a simple concept but sometimes we go by how someone looks or what they do and we don't try to make a connection with them. I encourage you to get to know people before you make an opinion. You never know what can, or will, happen. I hope you have a great day!
